This is an upgrade of the 1k-RiCA panel and first ever Indica-Japonica rice reference mid-density genotyping panel. The panel gives ~3x more genotyping data at the same per-sample cost. It has ~70% of the original 1k-RiCA positions, ~310 biotic and abiotic traits-related genes or QTL loci are covered at haplotype level and ~2.1k new genome-wide anonymous assays are added for GS efficiency gains. More than 97.6% positions map to the O. sativa sub-populations used in breeding. This panel can be used for genomic selection, QTL profiling, background selection, marker-assisted forward breeding, and QTL mapping.
This panel was developed through a collaborative effort by the IRRI-RBI, CGIAR-BRS, SCU, KAUST, and CIAT scientists and is now available for use.
