On the first day of the 2021 edition of the Virtual Meeting, EiB Director Michael Quinn described a vision to align CGIAR breeding resources towards impact in partnership with national agricultural research programs.
Barbara Wells, CGIAR Global Director for Genetic Innovation, then discussed plans under One CGIAR to better integrate breeding programs and deliver in areas of nutrition and health, poverty reduction, livelihoods, gender equality, youth and social inclusion, climate adaptation, environment, health and biodiversity.
Finally, each of the seven module leaders within EiB presented their results to date and plans going forward, before the meeting broke out into module-focused discussion groups.
