Crops to End Hunger (CtEH) is a CGIAR effort to accelerate and modernise the development, delivery and wide scale use of a steady stream of new crop varieties. The Facilities Upgrade and Mechanization Improvement project is one of 16 CtEH's projects currently being implemented by the Breeding Resources Initiative.
The project aims to increase the likelihood of delivering increased genetic gains on farmers’ fields through sustainably improving the infrastructure and mechanization capacity of priority CGIAR/NARS stations in Africa in alignment with OneCGIAR goals, benefiting multiple breeding programs (approximately 100 breeding pipelines). The project will provide equipment such as planters, solar and other irrigation systems, field preparation equipment, and harvesting equipment, along with related training and support.
