There have recently been inquiries about adhesive labels that would withstand cold room storage. In other words, we don't want the labels to fall off! What are people using: brand, catalog number, supplier, cost, etc.? Are there alternatives being used such as printing directly on the bags? Please share your experience!

Here is a link where you can find all the barcode label supplies. PolyPro 3000 is a good option, it's water proof and scratch resistance, we use them for PCR plates (4C to 95C). Get the High Tack series if you need stronger adhesive.

I have used laser printable cryolabels for years in the lab and on packets of tissue and seeds in the lab. I used to buy from Phenix lab supplies. They have been taken over by Thompson Scientific but the items are still marketed. Here is an example of the products https://www.thomassci.com/Labels-and-Printers/Peelable-Laser-Labels/_/Cryo-Lazr-Tag-Cryogenic-Removable-Labels-for-Laser-Printers-142-x-055?q=cryolabels. They come in different sizes and colours in "removeable" and "permanent" forms (the removeable ones can be peeled of plasticware if you purposefully try to do so- they don't come off paper at all). I have used in liquid nitrogen, sub-zero and refrigerator conditions. They don't fade, bleed and the only thing I can find which will destroy them is chloroform. The nice thing is I don't need a fancy printer, any laser printer will work.
