The Enterprise Breeding System (EBS) is an open-source breeding informatics software being developed for crop breeding programs serving resource-poor farmers in Africa, Asia and Latin America. A functional version of the software has now been delivered to early adopters in maize and wheat breeding programs.

The EBS Town Hall 2021 is the first opportunity for the CGIAR and NARES breeding community to learn more about the software that has been delivered, what EBS means for the future, how they can get involved, and the updated roadmap that has been set in place.

Goals

  • Learn about the vision and scope of the EBS project.
  • Find out how users are involved in developing the software.
  • Understand what the software is currently capable of doing.
  • Get an overview of the roadmap for development and adoption of the software.
